Book 2 Synopsis
A terrible darkness has infected the lands with evil. Malice and hate have spread their way deep into the hearts of the people in the kingdoms of the world, which have now fallen into chaos and ruin. The fate of all looms in the twilight of this great evil and rest in the hands of a brave few. Luminous and Aurora embark on a quest along with their company to find the Legacy Stone fragments that hold untold power.
The company has traveled to Forged Reach, seeking the council of the dwarves in hopes of repairing their sacred stone. Searching on his own, Luminous finds Emir, a dwarven princess. He mistakes her for his younger sister, Rebecca. Frightened, Emir fights Luminous. After a brief encounter, Luminous bests Emir, breaking her battle ax. She starts to cry, having no weapon to compete in the tournament at Forged Reach. Luminous knows he is to blame and gives Emir his weapon, a crud horn of a mighty beast. Emir recognizes the weapon and knows that Luminous must be the Harbinger Slayer. She promises to help Luminous into the city, and even to help him with his search for his companions.
Within the city’s walls, Luminous learns that the champion of the tournament being held there will receive a fragment from the stone they have been searching for. Emir persuades Luminous to accompany her as a guest. While spectating in the arena, Luminous finds his companions, but realizes they have been taken prisoner by the dwarven prince and bound for execution. A battle ensues and Luminous forces the dwarves to concede. As recompense for Prince Thalyn’s treatment of the elves, King Durrus decides to give the fragment to Aurora. The company also learns the Legacy Stone can be repaired with the Grim-Rose, but this item can only be found at Winterfall within the second kingdom of the dwarves.
With the first piece of the Legacy Stone in hand, Emir, leads the company deep into the snow-covered mountains toward their new destination. Upon reaching the city, they find Winterfall in ruins. There, the company faces off with orc soldiers and a ghost of a dead king. Though the company is victorious, they find all the vials containing the Grime-Rose destroyed. With heavy hearts, they leave the dwarven realm to discover a human disguised as an orc. Faelyn tells the company the location of another Legacy Stone fragment and leads them to the Cave of Sorrows.
While on the road, the company is ambushed by a pack of Volga-Roth wolves and a powerful mage. As Luminous’ eyes fall upon the twisted and confused soul standing in front of him, they begin to sparkle. Shocked, he gazes back into the eyes of a familiar face completely frozen. A battle between good and evil ensues and the company is forced to retreat through the forest. While fighting for their lives, the company is separated. Now, Aurora and Delfarious must help the wounded Luminous and Keilyn, while Elwryth and Emir stay behind to cover their retreat.
During battle, Elwryth is blindsided with betrayal. She is forced to flee alone and to jump into a raging river to keep from being captured, but not before she is shot with an arrow. Unable to swim Elwryth sinks. Just before she drowns, Faelyn pulls her to the surface. Together they swim to shore, and he tends to her wound. They both hide in the forest from pursuing soldiers. While Elwryth and Faelyn dodge the gaze of enemies, Luminous and the rest of the company carefully make their way through the forest, evading the enemy.
Delfarious confronts Luminous about only wanting the Legacy Stone for its untold power. Luminous admits to the accusations, but only with the intent to help the elves defeat his Malignant. Keilyn interrupts them and reminds the two why they are fighting, that they must stay the course, and endure for the sake of their cause-to free the world from the rule of a tyrant. With tension running high, mixed emotions stir in each of their hearts, and a shadow begins to rise. Luminous finds himself torn between his heart’s desire and the cost of completing their quest, knowing the only way to acquire the last Legacy Stone fragment is to take it by force. The book ends with the company heading to Dragonhold, trudging through the forest with the enemy trailing close behind them.

Character Details-Book 2
The Wandering Warrior
Emir is a Dwarven princess, daughter to King Dolynmire of the great town of Winterfall. She is the owner and operator of The Masterwork Arms, the most sought-after weapons that have an equal to no other. She inherits the Embermaker name, passed down from the first dwarven king ages ago during the first age of Dwarves.
Winterfall
The first Dwarven kingdom and sister city to Forged Reach. It is the home of the famous Masterwork Arms, and the only place that the Grim Rose can be made.
Midnight Skies
Late one night, while exploring the endless network of caves within Forged Reach, Luminous and Aurora, discover an inner sanctum hidden within a secret wall. Upon exploring the chamber, they find what seems to be dwarven magic, elaborate devices and grand machines of genius. Curious, Luminous and Aurora stumble upon a gadget that magnifies the sight of the viewer and find themselves staring up at the heavens.
Essence Of The Heart
Luminous and the company find themselves on the road again, in a harsh inhospitable climate of constant cold. Trekking through the snow-covered forest, the company comes across a frozen pond, where they strengthen their bonds and learn to laugh and have fun along the way.
An Acquired Taste
Forced to flee for their lives, the company travels through a network of tunnels, battling through traps and a host of enemies only to find themselves trapped inside a cave. Inside the Cave of Sorrows, the company finds the second fragment of the Legacy Stone but wake an inauspicious creature. An epic fight ensues, and the fate of the entire company hangs within the balance of the bonds they have forged along the way.
The Fading Dawn
The company has traveled far and wide, fought many battles, and now struggle to find their way. With enemy forces baring down on them, the company hide in a small shake deep within the forest. Surrounded by enemy forces and wounded, the company must fight and hope to hold out for the break of dawn.
